誰かがペルシャ国境近くの山腹にこの宮殿を建設した。良い防御位置と多くの刻まれた石が永続性を保証すると想定していたのだろう。ドームと尖塔は依然として中景に立ち、権威の表現を最善尽くしているが、前景は屋根のない部屋の迷路であり、その拱廊は今やただ雑草と昼間の光を枠取るだけである。

1960年代までに、宮殿は十分に長く放棄されており、前にある古い遺跡を柵で囲む手間をかける者はなく、訪問者は単に、かつて何か重要な人物にとって意味があった扉を通って登ることができた。城壁を通り過ぎる空の道は、この場所が権力の座ではなく、好奇心旺盛な人々の立ち寄り地となっていたことを示唆しており、これは一般的にこうした事柄の終わり方である。
