Taxcoの誰かがこれらの路地の壁を建てたが、その時点ではまだ写真家のための空間を残すことなど考えていなかった。1960年代の旅人がその間を無理やり通り抜けて手にした写真は、町の技師たちが決して意図しなかったもの：Santa Prisca のピンク色のバロック塔に一直線に続く粗い石の廊下であり、まるで丘全体が単一の消失点のために配置されたかのようだ。ブーゲンビリアが敷地間の隙間に繁殖し、ドレナージの問題をポストカード並みのものに変えるという平凡なメキシコの手口を演じている。
下の町は白とオーカー色の屋根の中、斜面を流れ落ちていく。銀鉱採掘の富は遠い昔に教会、庭園、車が走れないほど急な不動産に転換されており、だからこそこのような路地がいまなお写真に収められるべく存在しているのである。誰も景色を計画していない。この路地は単に、Borda家が二百年前に資金を提供した教区と一直線に並ぶことになっただけで、それ以来あらゆる観光客がこの一致は意図的だと仮定してきた。
左壁に斜めにボルト止めされた接続箱は、ここにおける20世紀への唯一の譲歩であり、電気はどこへでも必要なところに行くべきで、そしてどう見えようとそう見えるべきだと信じていた一つの時代の自信をもって配線されている。
