郊外住宅開発建設、1950年から1955年ごろ、戦後の住宅ブーム時期。この画像はアメリカの区画開発の典型的な段階を記録している。建築業者は基礎を打設し、構造物を建設し、敷地工事が進行中であっても家を占有していた。色塗りされた家と露出した基礎パッドは、多くのアメリカ郊外、特にミシシッピ川西側の地域における20世紀中期の開発方法論の特徴である。この時代の大量住宅生産は完成したインフラより速度とコストを優先し、完成の様々な段階にある近所に住む居住者を残した—これは1950年代の郊外拡大を定義する視覚的特徴となった実践である。
