この十年のあらゆる家族アーカイブには、これがある。つまり、夫と妻が家の前に直立し、まるでその家自体が証人を必要とするかのように立っている。栗色の羽目板と薄氷のような白い装飾は、戦後の理想を実体化したもので、継続的な仕事と住宅ローンが玄関と調和する鎧戸を備えた何かに変換できることの証拠だった。

カーディガンを着た男性と良い青いドレスを着た女性は、静止することの機会のために身を整えた。1960年代には、静止することそのものが機会だった。彼は屋根を返済した者のわずかな満足感で彼女に向かって身を傾け、彼女は以前にこの正確な写真を他の家の前でポーズを取った者の洗練された忍耐で身を傾ける。
