Cinco esquiadores cortan la estela en trajes rojos idénticos y cascos coloniales blancos, el uniforme de cualquier grupo de esquí acuático que quisiera verse tanto atlético como vagamente colonial. Alguien en la lancha fuera de borda remolcaba a los cinco esquiadores desde una sola cuerda, una acrobacia que requería sincronización perfecta, niveles de destreza igualados y la confianza total de que nadie delante de ti se caería.

La rampa flotante anclada en aguas afuera indica que fue un espectáculo de esquí completo, del tipo construido alrededor de rutinas de saltos y formaciones piramidales que los sitios turísticos de Florida perfeccionaron para exactamente esta década de familias de vacaciones.
