Cada archivo familiar de esta década tiene uno de estos: un esposo y una esposa de pie firmemente frente a la casa, como si la casa misma necesitara un testigo. El revestimiento de tablilla color granate y los bordes blancos nítidos fueron el ideal de posguerra hecho sólido, la prueba de que el trabajo constante y una hipoteca podían convertirse en algo con una puerta de entrada y contraventanas a juego.
