The historian's note
この画像は、1970年代にスペインのグラナダにあるアルハンブラ宮殿内のライオンの中庭（Patio de los Leones）を訪れる観光客カップルを記録したものである。ライオンの中庭はナスル朝宮殿の中央の庭で、14世紀に建造され、12体の大理石製ライオン彫刻に支えられた泉で有名である。アルハンブラ宮殿自体は広大な宮殿兼要塞複合体であり、グラナダ首長国のナスル朝統治者の住まいとして機能し、スペインにおけるイスラム美術と建築の頂点を表している。ユネスコ世界遺産に登録されており、ヨーロッパの歴史と観光において重要なランドマークである。
