下のトラック運転室にいた誰かが、カメラを装填した状態でそこに置いておく規律を持っていた。なぜなら、飛行場上の薄暮時こそが、実際のトラフィックが動く時間だったからだ。Hueyが薄れゆく青い空に向かって低く進入してくる。ローターはその速度によってぼやけている。誰かがそれを記録しようと見守っていようがいまいが、毎晩同じコースを飛行している。
The historian's note
この航空機はBell UH-1 Iroquoisであり、一般的にHueyとして知られている。これはベトナム戦争全体を通じて、United States militaryの標準的な多用途および輸送ヘリコプターである。木製塔の上の市松模様の回転ビーコンは、標準的な飛行場障害物標識であり、低照度作業中に滑走路またはヘリパッド近くの固定された危険から操縦士に警告するために使用される。1960年代の東南アジアの前進基地および補給基地の一般的な設備である。
