Las rosas silvestres, impulsadas por un imperativo biológico más antiguo que la mayoría de las instituciones humanas, persisten en florecer en sustratos improbables. Este cúmulo particular, indiferente a las impracticabilidades geológicas de su ubicación, cumple su programación genética para producir delicadas flores rosas, sin desalentarse por la evidente falta de tierra fértil.

Un fotógrafo de mediados del siglo XX, quizás cautivado por este pequeño acto de desafío botánico, eligió registrar el momento. En los años 1950, la gente aún apreciaba ampliamente la naturaleza por su constancia, antes de que comenzaran a categorizar cada planta espontánea como "maleza" o "cultivo potencial lucrativo".

Las plantas, por su parte, demuestran la seguridad silenciosa de todo aquello que sabe que sobrevivirá a las preocupaciones fugaces de sus observadores. Siguen siendo un testimonio de eficiencia, transformando recursos mínimos en exhibición máxima, un concepto que muchos estrategas corporativos harían bien en emular.
