Jemand in der Fahrerkabine unten hatte eine geladene Kamera und die Disziplin, sie dort zu behalten, denn in der Dämmerung über einem Flugplatz bewegte sich der echte Verkehr. Ein Huey kommt tief gegen das verblassende Blau heran, der Rotor durch seine eigene Geschwindigkeit unscharf, macht denselben Flug, den er jeden Abend machte, ob jemand dabei war, um ihn zu notieren oder nicht.

The historian's note

Das Flugzeug ist eine Bell UH-1 Iroquois, allgemein als Huey bekannt, der Standard-Mehrzweck- und Truppentransport-Hubschrauber des United States military während des Vietnam-Krieges. Die schachbrettartige rotierende Bake auf ihrem hölzernen Turm ist eine Standard-Flugplatz-Hindernis-Markierung, die dazu dient, Piloten vor einer festen Gefahr in der Nähe einer Landebahn oder eines Hubschrauber-Landeplatz während Operationen bei schlechten Lichtverhältnissen zu warnen, eine häufige Einrichtung auf vorderen Flugplätzen und Versorgungsdepots in Südostasien in den 1960er Jahren.
