Uma parada clássica à beira da estrada dos anos 1970 para uma aula de geologia espontânea, atividade que outrora era considerada essencial em qualquer viagem pela estrada americana respeitável. Um indivíduo, talvez um geólogo amador dedicado ou um pai com novo apreço por camadas sedimentares, aponta com autoridade para uma formação rochosa específica.
