O general equestre em seu pedestal branco já viu trânsito pior do que este, embora não muito. Abaixo dele um Citroën 2CV passa pela rotatória com aquela soberba particular de um carro desenhado para agricultores franceses, agora colocado em serviço como transporte urbano em uma capital sul-americana que havia adotado metade dos sucatas automotivas da Europa e chamado de frota.

Um Fiat 600 vermelho e um microônibus azul decrépito esperam sua vez, cada um representando uma teoria diferente sobre quantas pessoas deveriam caber em quanto espaço, todos aparentemente corretos simultaneamente. Pedestres atravessam atrás do monumento com a confiança desapressada de pessoas que ainda não foram informadas de que este cruzamento um dia será uma fotografia estudada por seus carros em vez de seu general.
