From this elevated perspective, the entire curve of a vast harbor city in the 1970s unfolds, a testament to humanity's tireless commitment to putting things on ships and sending them somewhere else. Every crane, every pier, exists solely to facilitate the movement of goods, often from places that have them to places that don't, which is how economies work.
Giant cranes diligently manipulate unseen cargo or components on a ship that appears to be undergoing a substantial transformation, because even massive vessels eventually wear out or need upgrading. This endless cycle ensures that someone, somewhere, is always needing something transported across an ocean, perpetuating the whole system.
