In the 1970s, group travel abroad often involved bringing along friends, or at least people who seemed friendly enough for a picture. This particular cohort assembled itself efficiently on a patterned tile, a task that required minimal negotiation and assumed everyone knew where the camera was.
Their brightly colored synthetic fabrics were the height of contemporary style, offering both comfort for touring and a subtle resistance to wrinkles. No one foresaw a future where natural fibers would reclaim their dominance, or that these very outfits would become historical markers.
