The dark sedan parked just off the lawn places this as a gathering of some kind — the kind of Sunday afternoon that got a dedicated roll of film because everyone was already dressed.
What the camera caught, without meaning to, is how seriously the decade took the idea that there was a correct way to appear in a yard.
