白い台座の上の騎馬の将軍は、これより悪い交通を見てきたが、そこまで悪くはない。彼の下では、Citroën 2CVがロータリーを通り抜けており、フランスの農民のために設計されたその特有の自慢気さが感じられる。今は南米の首都での都市交通として使われており、その首都はヨーロッパの自動車の廃品の半分を採用し、それを艦隊と呼んでいた。

赤いFiat 600と四角いブルーのマイクロバスが順番を待っており、それぞれが異なる理論を代表している。どれだけの人数がどれだけの狭さに収まるべきかについての理論で、すべてが同時に正しいと思われる。歩行者たちは記念碑の後ろを横切り、この交差点がいつか写真として研究されることになり、将軍としてではなく自動車で研究されることになることをまだ知らされていない人々の落ち着いた自信を示している。
