The historian's note

ハリウッドの1750 Vine StreetにあるCapitol Records Buildingは1956年に完成し、Welton BecketとLouis Naidorfによって設計された。当時は広く報道されていたが、誤って45 rpmレコードのスタックのように見えるように設計されたと言われ、建築家たちはこの神話を確認することもなければ、完全に否定することもなかった。

塔の点滅する尖塔は建設以来HOLLYWOOD をモールス信号で綴られており、これはスタジオの創設者の要望により設置された近所へのうなずきである。建物は地下レベルに録音スタジオを収納し、円形構造のための特別な音響配慮で設計され、この写真が記録する十年を通じてCapitol Recordsの本社として機能した。
