誰かがこの飛行機を誇りに思い、誰かが他にカメラを渡されて急いでくれと言われた。小さい高翼尾輪式飛行機は刈られた芝生の上に駐機しており、赤と青のストライプが新しく塗られている。これは工場ものではなく、個人所有者が自ら選んだ塗装である。その後ろにもう一機の主翼の先端がフレーム内に見えており、これが本当の飛行場であり、本当の交通があったことの証拠である。単なる一人の男の牧場ではなかった。
1960年代までに、一般航空は驚くほど多くのアメリカ人が負担できる趣味となり、2、3機の飛行機が係留されている草地飛行場は典型的な土曜日の目的地だった。撮影者は明らかにピント合わせよりも瞬間を捉えることに関心があり、それ自体がその時代の小さな遺物である。カメラは単純で、フィルムは二度目を試す価値がないほど安くはなく、ぼやけた飛行機でも飛行機の写真として数えられた。
