This particular stretch of coastline, with its hillsides carved out for new construction, presented itself as an ideal destination for those seeking to replace their routine anxieties with the more manageable worries of sunburn and overpriced drinks.
Down on the beach, tiny figures engage in the universal ritual of leisure, perhaps debating the optimal time to reapply suntan lotion or where the best tacos might be found. The thatched-roof structures, probably designed for "authentic" dining experiences, dot the shoreline, providing a touch of local flavour before the next wave of development paves over everything.

This decade saw considerable investment in infrastructure, hotels, and vacation homes along the Bay of Banderas.
The scene illustrates the blend of natural tropical beauty, with the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains meeting the Pacific Ocean, and the increasing human footprint. Residential and commercial developments, including palapas on the beach, reflect the nascent stages of its modern resort industry catering to a growing influx of visitors.
