誰かがこの庭を定規で測った。チューリップは赤い2個連隊として立っており、芝生の中央を真っ直ぐに敷かれた石のパスの両側にそれぞれ配置され、1960年代の郊外の住宅所有者が小規模な国境紛争の真摯さで追求したような幾何学的な花壇配置である。
ポスト上のランプは最後の仕上げであり、隣人に誰かが単に芝刈りをしただけではなく造園に本当のお金を使ったことを示す備品だった。白いピケットゲートはパスの奥を塞ぎ、より機能的というより装飾的で、先の物置小屋や、その先の整った庭の約束以外は何も守らない。
このようなチューリップの球根は前の秋に植えられ、わずか2週間咲いてから平凡な緑の葉に崩れ落ちるが、ここのすべての庭師がこれを知っており、誰もこれを落胆させることはなかった。この展示全体は、努力が実際に見える短い期間に撮影されたこのような写真のために存在する。
