誰かが落ち葉の中に横たわった車輪を写真に収めるために立ち止まり、その結果、この林地がかつて誰かの庭であったという唯一の真の痕跡を残した。1960年代までに、このような木製の放射状スポークを持つ車輪は、必須の機器から装飾的なくず鉄へと約1世代の間に転換していた。内燃機関は、馬車輸送の全体的な装置を、誰かが余った部品に使い道を見つけることができるより速く時代遅れにしてしまったのだ。
その背後には、傾斜小屋が木々の下でたるんでおり、回収された錆びた鉄板で覆われている。これは一時的なものとして意図された建造物の一種で、誰かが30年間それを置き換えることに腰を上げなかった。積み重ねられた木材と回収された金属板張りが近くに横たわっており、それはいずれそのすべてで何かを構築しようとしていた人物の確信に満ちた配置である。
森はそれ以来、放棄された意図に対して森が行うことを実行してきた。隙間を通して成長し、斑点状の光が部分的にもはや存在しない屋根の場所に立つようになった。1960年に車輪を写真に収めた者は誰も何も記録していると思わなかった。それが今、この写真が価値を持つ理由である。
